Since my last update Alan and I have come here a number of times, mostly for dinner, but sometimes for lunch.  In June they had a pizza of the month that was terrific, w/ corn, thinly sliced peppers and I forget what else, except that it was delicious.  It reminded me of the kind of pizzas we get at Cheeseboard.  The pizzas of the month seem to be thin crust.  I had a personal size for lunch and then we came back a week or two later and shared a full size.  We must have over-ordered, because we took half home and it didn't reheat that successfully, even w/ our pizza stone.  Maybe we ordered a large size.  I don't remember.

We missed July's pizza of the month, but August's is an heirloom tomato margherita.  We had it tonight and it was fabulous, the tomatoes exquisitely sweet.  We started w/ a medium Goddess salad and a small roasted cauliflower.  We ordered a small size pizza and it was the perfect size.  We finished everything.  I had a cocktail, a Flor de Agave, made w/ Dos Manos Tequila, Bertina elderflower and agave.  It was as delicious as it sounds.  The restaurant was full and throbbing w/ energy.  There were many families w/ kids who started to clear out as it approached 8:00.  Service was friendly, attentive and efficient.

I been here once for a work event and another time for dinner with family. Both times the service has been great and the wait hasn't been too bad. The last time we went was to grab dinner for 4 and it was fairly busy. We asked for a table by the wall in hopes we could hear each other better. The hostess was happy to seat us in the front corner and it did help with the noise. We decided to do the dinner for 4 which included a salad, pizza and a bottle of wine. It seemed like the salads and pizza were all fair game, and the wine was their house wine.

We got the mixed green salad ( I loved the gorgonzola cheese on the salad) and the All-star pizza. Normally I'm not a huge deep dish fan and to be honest, I don't like a lot of different meats on the same pizza. However this seemed balanced and I really enjoyed it, I would definitely order it again. Their house wine is pretty good too.

Our waitress was good, she wasn't overly friendly but she wasn't unfriendly either. She gave us space to enjoy the food and catch up which I appreciated. We didn't feel rushed even though they seemed to be turning tables quickly. It's a good little spot in Albany and I'm sure we will be back again not to far in the future.

My co-worker who lives in Albany can't stop talking about this place. I've been here before 1-2 years ago, but all the talk was making me crave Little Star. I got it to go and picked it up at the back window, very convenient. Also I parked out front but noticed that the street perpendicular to Solano next to Little Star has a parking lot. Next time I'll park there because I circled at least a couple of times.

We got the Little Star which is spinach and mushroom Chicago Style. We got roasted garlic instead of regular. It's really good. The cornmeal crust is everything. I love Zachary's too, but the cornmeal gives it a nice texture. We also ordered a salad. I can't remember much about it except it was small, ordinary, and expensive - so you know, maybe skip it. The two orders in front of me got Brussels sprouts, so maybe I'll try that next time.

This is the best pizza in the east bay that I've had and I've lived here my entire life, so that's saying a lot. This is REAL QUALITY pizza folks. Fresh, generous ingredients, and the dough is always cooked perfectly.

I come here with one of my best friends every so often and she is a vegetarian and I am not  so we always get half and half pizza when we order. We usually order the mixed green and the Cesar salad when we dine in, and the salad is also top notch. I am a regular here and will continue coming back!

Thanks for making such GREAT pizza!!
